Basically flew to Buffalo NY the Fri after Thanksgiving (after the 9/11 attack), went for a test drive, took care of the paperwork, and left for home that afternoon. Drove 800+ miles over Fri / Sat back to N ILL including thru the Chicago expressway (sweat that one a little!). No problems! 60 Ventura....still have it.

My farthest was home Pickerington, Ohio to the convention center in Wichita Kansas. Google maps says that was 909 miles, yes I drove it. Had a death in the family while I was there. Wichita, Kansas to Uhrichsville, Ohio 1010 miles. Did the return trip in 23 hours actual driving time, with one stop to sleep. I made it to the calling hours.

Longest continuous Pontiac drive for me was in 2007 when I picked up my '72 Grand Prix. I drove to Boca Raton, Florida to see the car. Bought it and drove it home, 800 miles for my first drive. The entire trip up the coast was in a tropical storm (Barry). Never turned the wipers off and it took 15 hours.
My wife was the real trooper, following behind in the SUV, and she hates driving in rain.

The day I bought my 67 Firebird I drove it from Tacoma,WA to Atlanta,GA. which was about 3200 miles. Since then the most was a 400 mile round trip from Maine to CT and back.

For me, So. Florida to N. Carolina 750 miles spent a week there and 750 back, for a total of 2500 miles altogether, with the A/C on. No issues.

I drove my 65 GTO from Pa. to Calif. and back. That was in 1985. Drove it from Pa. to Ohio, then down to Little Rock Ar.,then back to Pa. in 2007 for the Hot Rod Power Tour. Been to Michigan a few times, Ohio many times. All that with a 400,tripower,4 speed and 3:90 gears. And the trip to California was in December with snow most of the way.

Not far enough, but my longest trip was one way Socal to Central VA in my '66 GP with 421HO and 3.42 rear. This is NOT a Hwy gear. Car had around 50k original miles on it.

I love to drive my cars but get limited time to do so. Nevertheless, my last Pontiac I drove about 100 miles to Englishtown, raced all day, WON every race, then drove 100 miles home in a torrential downpour (which normally would have killed my OCD).

Here's a recap of that day:

With my current car I drive to my favorite Sunday morning cruise 32 miles away at the beach. Love it. Looking for further road trips. Hell, my Hagerty towing covers up to 100 miles no charge 👍

Oh, and I too drive every mile listening for the tell tale sounds of disaster, hoping never to hear them!

We do couple trips that are several hundred miles, most every year. "Lost in the 50s" Sandpoint, ID, approximately 800 miles round trip, and "Wheels & Waves" Seaside, OR, approximately 300 miles round trip.
Most of our other driving is to local car shows or local cruises around the Western Washington area. We try to avoid the Seattle area, since the traffic has gotten so bad.
We have driven the 62 GP to two conventions. One in St. Charles IL in 2012 and one in Spearfish, SD in 2008.

Wow, we have some real road warriors on here! I usually don't go farther than two hundred miles one way, and did it four times this summer for shows. I've been lucky to have no major issues so far, and I love driving it on the highway instead of poking around town in traffic.

I put about 3,000 mile on the 71 per year. The longest road trip has been about 100 miles round trip, but I'm planning on heading down to Gillette Stadium which will be almost 200 miles round trip.

back in around 1983 or 84 I bought a 72 lemans sport 455 HO 4 speed from the original owner who was a high up in the navy and was stationed at whidby island Washington. my buddy and I flew up there and drove it back to Tulsa. we made a stop in estes park Colorado where my brother lived at the time and spent a couple of days there. when we got home we had clocked just a little over 2500 miles on it. it only had 28k original miles on it when we left whidby island.

I haven't had the epic road trips some of you guys have had! When I drive to Great Lakes Dragaway in Union Grove WI for a track outing it's about 70 miles each way. 4th of July weekend last year I had a 4 day weekend that started on a track outing with 10 passes, then drove the car everyday put about 400 miles total

Just today we got back from Drag Week, about 1500 miles total. Before that, I flew out to Maine and purchased my 70 LeMans Sport. 800 miles over two days home.

If you didn't worry about breaking down in the 60's there's no sense worrying about it today.
