How would the added ring gap affect oil consumption on a strictly street motor?
With those "flat top" pistons, care to guess what the c.r. would be with my 97cc chambered heads?

frittering and wasting the hours in an off hand way.... 1969 GTO, 455ci, 230/236 Pontiac Dude's "Butcher Special" Comp hyd roller cam with Crower HIPPO solid roller lifters, Q-jet, Edelbrock P4B-QJ, Doug's headers, ported 6X-8 (97cc) heads, TKO600, 3.73 geared Eaton Tru-Trac 8.5", hydroboost, rear disc brakes......and my greatest mechanical feat....a new heater core. David, I'm not an expert on the rings, but I did tell the builder that 95% of the time, it would be on the street and natrually aspirated, so I believe he was pretty moderate on the gapping. I had some 87 cc edelbrocks for this to run on pump gas, but had to sell them. I now have a set of 98cc 4x heads that I believe would be in the ballpark of 9.5: 1 with a thicker .041 head gasket for pump gas use. Hope this helps. - Adam
