It's an Engineering vehicle from Buick in Flint. They built 5 or 6 of them to use as parts haulers and development vehicles.
This one started life as a 1940 Roadmaster coupe.
I believe it is the only surviving example.

I'm sorry too; I saw your name on the plaque and thought "...that name sounds familiar...".

But - I'm glad you got to have a look around. I encourage everybody to make sure and take time to stroll the grounds.

I was the Category Leader for the "Pure Michigan - Made in Flint" category.
It was fun pulling that group of vehicles together.
Glad to see so many pictures of the Flint-built cars and trucks!

I was so busy I didn't get to see the entire show, so I really appreciate your photos.

Dr. Eric Schiffer was the Leader for the "50th Anniversary of the GTO" category; he presented a great group of cars!

Thanks again for sharing all the pics.

It was a great day.
You are welcome. I"m from Flint originally so I especially enjoyed that. Thank you (and Bob Ashton, Eric Schiffer, Bill Schultz and all the rest) for your efforts.

In celebration of seeing the "Hannibal Twin 8's" Joseph and I went home and re-watched "the Great Race". Been watching that movie almost 50 years and still saw stuff in it I had never noticed before.

It was a great day.

The journey and meeting people.was best part for me. Show was great too. Not much of a show person, but most I met aren't either.

On the way to host hotel.

At the hotel.

At the show.

Big credit to Eric for putting together a great line up of GTOs!

That's what I love about working in the auto industry.

Need a parts chaser for Buick Engineers? Answer: Build a Buick pickup....

Need a daily driver, because you are coming out with a new model that is going to create an entirely new segment of vehicles? Is your name on the water tower outside the factory? Answer: How about a black one, Mr Ford....

Need more pep for your "new for 1964" GM A bodies? Answer: A 389 would fit...

In fact, (...in keeping with the Ford theme...) that's how the Lincoln division came about. Edsel Ford built himself a stylish little gem which he called a Zephyr so that he would have something to drive around. He took it to Florida on vacation and people kept handing him wads of cash to make one for them, too. He and Mr Ford decided perhaps they should have a more style conscious division to make cars to satisfy that need.

It's just what we do around here. We make cars, and we make parts for cars, and we make tools to make the parts for cars. Alot of internet folks (present company excluded, of course) seem to think these things just fall from the sky, but they were made by people.

Judge273; your car looks great!

By the way, that's me (in the blue shirt, talking on the cell phone) walking towards the right side of this photo! Too funny!
