Here are the pictures of the W72 System Gardner has been working on.
Looks pretty darn nice!
Only thing that jumps out at me is the ball style connector behind the Cat location. The 78-79 W72's had the flat four bolt flange like the front Y pipe.

They are also making the front pipes for the 403 engine.

So Gardner does have a muffler, either as we speak, or coming out soon?

I don’t believe Gardner will sell parts, only complete systems.

$900 to $1200 would be my estimate. Give Eric Gardner a call. He’s a great guy and usually answers the phone himself. Old School Cool.

I would assume you need to have the correct cat too to get correct points at POCI?

Clearly not original so the cat may be least of the issues, just enjoy it without having to enter and have others tell you if your effort was worthwhile to them.

Is the correct setup for a 79 the two mufflers under the rear seat, and duels going out , or is it a single system meeting under the backseat, and splitting off into duels/?W72 car.

79 W72 car would be the same as 1978. It would look just like the pictures above with two resonators under the rear seats. Single Cat, with a Y pipe leading into the resonators from the outlet of the cat. Only difference I can see compared to the photos above is the y pipe did not have a ball connector at the cat like the system in the photo. It was a square 4 bolt flange just like the front of the car. Otherwise dang near identical imo.

for what its worth my 80 Trans am has the same resonators & tailpipes, but the Y pipe after the cat DOES have the ball connector. I am not sure what cars have it that way or when it started, but the W72 cars didn't have that ball connection. Hopefully that makes sense.
