Default Eastwood Floor Jack ??

I am looking for a aluminum floor jack and I ran across this one from Eastwood.
Notice the lifetime warranty. I called and customer service and she said the manufactures warranty was one year, but if it failed 4 years or so they would replace it.

That is not a lifetime warranty. That is a lifetime guarantee. That is different. The guarantee is there to make the customer happy within reasonable limits.

Lifetime means lifetime, not within 5 years or so.

That jack can be bought for less money than that and is a Chinese brand that many outlets sell. I paid $89 for mine at Sam's club, looks to be the same design.

I myself have had one for about 10 years and I wouldn't buy another one. The aluminum side rails have a tendency to twist if on a less than optimum surface and stay twisted. I had to use my 20 ton press to straighten mine back to some semblance of straight. The seal on the pump also started leaking shortly after I bought mine, have to keep refilling it periodically.

I see it has a 3.3 rating out of 5 possible, means 1 in 3 are dissatisfied with it.

Same jack at Harbor Freight, $50 less plus you can get 20% off with a coupon.

Like Sirrotica said, same made in China stuff as elsewhere… but with a higher mark-up.

I have the lighter one from HF. The 1.5 ton aluminum jack is good for most things around the garage. For heavier lifting I have a heavy duty 3 ton steel floor jack. The little one is great for throwing in the trailer when I go to the track.

I'm actually on my second one- I broke the first lifting something way heavier than it's rating.

I bought this 3 ton steel and aluminum jack at Costco for $100, it's heavier to pick up or carry, but much less flimsy than the 2 ton aluminum jack I have. The 2 ton aluminum is lighter to lift, and is fine for lifting a car to change a tire. It would only lift one corner on my dually, the 3 ton will lift either end of my truck no problem.

I also would favor HF.

Looks to me like Eastwood's Lifetime Satisfaction Guarantee means you could possibly return it at any time and get your money back if you were dissatisfied.

Not a bad guarantee if they would stand behind it. But sounds like they may give you grief if it falls apart in 8 years. Are they going to argue with you if you say you are dissatisfied at that point?

Never bought from Eastwood so I really don't know.

Brad, HF does not allow the 20% coupon on floor jacks. Learned that when buying a Christmas present for a son one year ago. See the fine print on the coupon.

But they have the 3 ton aluminum with a lift range comparable to the Eastwood 2 ton on a Super Coupon $10 off, now $170. The HF 2 ton is $130 but doesn't lift as high. They have a special going on for their 1.5 ton at $59.

HF offers extended warranties at a price, not sure on the jacks and I never buy them so don't know the details. But you can ask if warranty is important to you.

That Costco 3 ton jack weighs about the same as the HF 3 ton, looks like a great price.

I have a 2 ton MVP brand Model F-255 made in Taiwan steel floor jack range of 5"-15.5" that has served me since as far back as I can remember. Date code might be 1982. I think it is out of warranty.

John, I'd need a magnifying glass to read that coupon, I usually clip the ones in the Parade magazine in the Sunday paper, and that print is tiny.............LOL.

They probably have it in larger print somewhere on their site.

I just found a larger coupon on my monthly flyer that comes in the mail, it does say floor jacks on it so yes it won't work for a discount.

Brad, Would you happen to know what the warranty and the arcan model number is?

It used to be that they always took things back no matter what. I asked about the warranty and they are looking into it.

I look here to see if seal kits are available.

Really Dan, I never looked into the warranty. If I spend $100 on a floor jack and it lasts me a couple of years I feel it owes me nothing.

The 3 ton Arcan jack is roughly 2 1/2 years old and I have beat the crap out of it using it to jack up stuff in the dirt and packing it full of mud and dirt. I just used in the last month to lift a 22 ft straight truck body that was sitting flat on the ground sinking it into mud and dirt until I had it raised up enough to put trailer axles under it and a tongue to tow it 50 miles to my house.

The jack has worked flawlessly and I've never had to add any hydraulic oil to it, I give it

I could look at the model # if you'd like me to tomorrow, it's sitting out in the backyard right now in the rain storm going across Ohio tonight, further torture testing it..............LOL

Looks like it's an ALJ3T model from just a little searching online.
Downloaded the warranty and parts list, 1 year:

I have the same one. Great jack. Its the very same jack as this one and its rated as one of the best on the market.

On Amazon, its $150. At Costco, its $99 with a different paint job. Highly rated and not all that heavy being steel and aluminum.

I did what tigergto did. The Steel HF jack is heavy as heck. The Aluminum one works great for what it is. No issues at all.

I went with the Harbor Freight low profile, high lift jack. 5 years old now? I paid about $100.
The only time I've ever picked my jack up was bringing it home.

After looking around at different brand name jacks I ended up buying a Pittsburgh HD 4 ton floor jack from Harbor Freight. Maybe it's overkill but it hasn't let me down so far. It's been the best jack I've seen or used in a long time. Cost was 89.99 on sale 2 years ago. I had a 2 1/2 ton jack from Sam's Club for a couple of years up north that got me out of a pinch during the Ice Storm of 98. It picked up my collapsed garage roof high enough so the ice and snow would run off outside instead of inside the garage. All that weight from the ice and snow blew out the internals in the jack. I had it fixed twice and it worked ok for a short time each time. ....50 bucks a shot. Finally I sent it to the scrap pile.

If I had to buy another, I'd get the same Pittsburgh HD 4 ton jack all over again.

I'm looking for something light enough to throw on the car trailer or the back of the truck when needed.

58.3 lbs, at 64 YO I can lift it in the back of my stake body dually. I'm sure a younger person could do it as well. The handle comes off to make it less awkward and a smidgen lighter.
