Good Year Eagle ZR production run dates
Does anyone know when the Eagle ZR 245/50/16 Gatorbacks were produced? I bought a car with original tires on it, & just trying to confirm when they were made.
on memory alone, I thought the ZR's came out around 1997 or 1998 & ceased production sometime before the end of the 1990's, but really not sure when.  The date code on the ones I have are "049" Which should be 4th week of 1989, or possibly the 4th week of 1999. However I am uncertain if these tires even had a 10 year run for that to be possible in 1999. the part that adds confusion for me is I know the ZR's continued on in other sizes, so figuring out the production of 245/50/16's alone might be a tough one. Let me know your thoughts! reference picture:

My 89 formula 350 had the ZR gatorbacks, so did the TTAs and all performance models. IIRC 89 was the 1st yr for the ZR, rest were V
Production ran until a little past the GSCs came out but they did live longer on other sizes/car models
