Got a set of 1968 #16 heads. They have been cut for pc seals but will need to be freshened up. Will they work ok on a standard bore 389? I know the valve angle is wrong. But what pontiac cam numbers can i run with these heads without valve clearance issues[lift]? Also won't the compression be more pump friendly with these heads? Thanks to all and any replies

The heads will fit fine but they wont change the compression much. You can run any factory cam with the posible exception of the RA 4 cam.

I THOUGHT THE 66 389 HEADS WERE 10.50 AND THESE HEADS WOULD BE AROUND 9.50-9.75. AM I WRONG?
