Good luck your goona need it unless you have a high powered staple gun putting them staples in the exact location in the rubber and making it match the holes in your inner fender wells is lotsa fun. Better sit down and drink a few before you start this

Well I got the shields installed, and the fender wells installed on the car. Looks Great!
Once I got a method going matching the holes and staples it went OK. And I didn't even have a beer! Well, until I was finished,,, then I had two.. had to kill the pain from a staple sticking in my index finger, and it went in deep! Ouch Don |

TX, use a pair of needle nose vise grips and a propane torch. Heat the staple and push it thru from the engine side. Pull it back out and push a cold staple up from the tire side. Works better with two people and a small child.(someone to fetch beers)

Tom, your answer brings up a question I have had for sometime. Which side do the staples go on. Over the years I've looked at a lot of "unrestored" GTOs (mostly '66's) and I've seen both ways. Talked to several knowledgable people and they said probable they were done both ways at the factory and it doesn't seem to make any difference (I don't have enough data to correlate the direction with the building plant.)

Ed & Bud, I imagine it has to do with how many beers, the assembly worker had at lunch.
Can anyone confirm these splash shields were installed on the line, or did the inner fenders come in the plant with the shields installed?
