The photo of the Four Seasons 35383 matched the photo of what Scarebird posted.
So on the Rock Auto site, the Four Seasons 35383 has black blades, but the one Scarebird bought has clear blades like 35344 (front w/ wheel) or 35333 (rear with AC / CCW). So...which is correct?

My bad. It must be the 35333.
Scarebird, can you confirm this?

Interesting. If you look at your photo and the photo of the Four Seasons unit, the stickers are the same.

Btw, it might be better to continue this discussion here as not to clutter up your build thread:

https://forums.maxperformanceinc.com...04#post6252604

It already got reactivated yesterday.

Drove in to work yesterday trying to get miles on the car and the PCM educated. One thing I noticed was the dash center was fluttering pretty good: the vacuum gauge mounted to it was oscillating about a 1/4".

I put a brace from the radio brace to the firewall by the heater outlet. We will see if that helps or makes it worse. These old convertibles squeak more than a mouse orgy.

I was getting a minor stumble on acceleration. I viewed the Edelbrock boards to see if there was any thing there about this but found nothing.

I decided to start from square one. Compression test first. All cylinders except for 7 150-155ish. 7 of course is a bugger to get to and decided knowing this car's luck it would be the one. Had to fab a setup to get the tester to fit past the steering arm.

125# dammit.

A leak down test confirmed the bad news, easily can hear the air in the intake.

Oh man! You've sure had your share of bad luck.
Think it's a valve? Head gasket?

I can easily hear the air thru the intake - especially when the throttle body is opened - both rockers are at 0.005" or so - valves are shut.

Needed to get some laundry done, though some sketchy guy in an Aztez was in the way.

Had to park further away.

Yes. It was a misadjusted rocker (so I took it down for nothing - the heads checked out fine). I did swap out the solid Crowers for hydraulic Johnstons from Butler- very quiet! Still has the slight stumble on light acceleration - and single digit gas mileage. I will examine the plug wiring routing more carefully and swap out the cap and rotor too.

Very slight shudder through the steering - bent hub? Will fab a fixture and use a dial indicator to find out.

Still single digit fuel mileage. Noted that the fuel pressure creeped up now to 68 psi - no way to adjust that with the current Corvette regulator. May need to replace it.

Intermittent wiper stopped the other week. Motor died during sunset rainstorm. Wonderful. Replaced and worked during test, now out again - grr.

Wheel shudder was tested; runout at wheel rim less than 10 thou. DOT recently repaved some of I-25 - very smooth and noted that shudder gone there, so not an issue with car but lousy NM roads..

I swear by doing tried and true fuel system configs, and recommend that others do. Regulator as close to the load as possible, properly sized feed & return, and quality parts ( including line, fittings, and proper sumps/vents).

I recently had an issue with fuel delivery, and was surprised when I discovered the cause. My fans have the same gauge wire as the ones coming out of the motors, and used that gauge to wire to a controller, and battery. Total distance, MAYBE 5 feet, probably closer to 3.5 feet.

Running at full blast, for a period of time over 20 min, the wires got hot, and resistance increased, snow-balling until the alt was maxed out, pump (and ECU) starved for power, psi dropped to 36-38 lbs.

Once I picked up speed, and the fans dropped to say 35%, pump picked back up, and car ran stupid rich, until it leaned itself out again. And the cycle started over again once my speed slowed down. Took me a while to figure that one out.

That really is a great deal for that long block, I'm surprised. Congrats on that!

Did I miss something?
What exactly is inside that plastic?
Must be exciting.

Please bring us up to date with your thinking and plans for the new engine. Is it new?
What made you decide to go this route? What about the old engine and the Pro Flo4?
Have I missed you discussing all this before? Maybe in another thread? Sounded like HYWSTR455 knew something about it.

yes, it is a new L84, which is somewhat of a pain as the aftermarket has not really embraced the newer tech. Old engine was sold locally with PFI.

Why did you bail out on the Pontiac engine? Are you upgrading to an OD transmission as well? Very nice build by the way! The color really shows well.
