The National Auto and Truck Museum restored one of the Futurliner some years ago. They have some general information at this link: https://natmus.org/fl-restoration If you want to read in more depth and see progress pictures of their work, go to https://futurliner.org and follow the links there under Restoration Project.

They wern't people movers at all. I'm not sure there was room for more than one person in the cab. They were used to take GM's Parade of Progress show on the road.

The Futureliner Bitchin Rides restored had an airplane / jet engine display. The retractable overhead light bar was way cool!

You can tell by his expression that ol' "Rockford" is serious about anything with wheels.

Thanks for the pics. Liked the tree transport. Don has things in control, twin McCullochs. Looks like Alfred Hitchcock in first. Jim Garner liked him in movies.

You New Englanders might recognize some of this action from the Danbury (CT) Race-Arena…

Default Maybe Dad was cool

So I had heard of my dad's car when he was a young engineer for GM, but I found the slide: 1957 Oldsmobile Super 98 convertible. Apparently he bought it one year used. The last personal car before getting into fleet rotation, and this may be why I like Pontiacs, a used 1967 Pontiac LeMans, purchased in 1974. I remember going with him to pick up the car. And shortly after, at GM Tech Center for some photos. My older brother is in the photo as well
