I believe it was '73, and it was optional even then. My '74 Cutlass Supreme has 15 inch SSII wheels, my brother had the same car, same year, was equipped with 14 inch. the 15 inch Rally II wheels on my '66 came off a '74 Grand Prix.

I always wondered why Pontiac never used the 3 speed automatic tranny (turbo350?) that was in the B-body cars. The ST-300 just didn't cut it in the A-bodies.
That's why the 67 is the one to have....shoulda woulda coulda

On a 66 I like the tail lights and Tri-Power. But 67 has better front grilles, side chrome and interior. So for those reasons and the fact that I own one 67's gets my vote.

Gotta go with the '66, owned mine since 1984.
Why do you think everyone loves the Monkeemobile !?! ; '67 grills wouldn't looked good in that front end.

Here is yesterdays picture after color sanding and polish. Finish polish in a week and all the new chrome trim and new front bumper put on and should be looking good...

i'm in the '67 camp, as well. keys reasons would be the mesh grill (looks awesome and more aggressive), the improved taillights, and the softer 'roll' of the rear quarters into the tail panel. the '66 console itself is cool, but the combo of that console and the wood dash inlay just doesn't look as good as the dual wood units in the '67. also prefer the front nose panel ending above the bumper and the trim wrapping down and around the nose and back towards the headlights. my dad had a '67 convertible when i was a young kid, so i've always been a '67 fan.

WHOA.. now if that was a '67 Strat. Love that. I have a 73 Oly white.

I like the 67 Trim and tailights.. Like Pontiac saw what hotrodders were doing with the smoothed and shaved bodywork and did it themselves.

I have never done anything to the car to make it "up in the air". It has sat like that since I bought it in 1976.

Well, it sits high. So someone has played with springs. A good friend had a 66 Conv. that appeared too low, he could not understand it as he used OE GM HD Springs. He left it that way.

I could not tell you what somebody did before 1976. What I do know is I have changed the rear end in 1980 (no spacers in the rear), changed the front and rear springs in 1981 with stock springs I ordered and it has stock front a-arms and spindles (no spacers in the front). Nothing I did has ever changed the height. I often thought about lowering it and what it would take.
