Default stupid choke rod question

I can't seem to get the choke rod and the carb to link up on my 1970 RAIV motor. Do I have the wrong choke rod, or has the carb linkage been changed from original? If anyone has a photo (I would think all 1970 motors are the same), I would appreciate it.

Your carb is messed up. Carb linkage from a Buick unit and a standard 1970 choke pull-off for use of the delayed choke system.
Is it really a real RA carb at all?

Originally it had an aftermarket pull cable attached to the choke mechanism (very amateur). It has the correct RAIV stamping but I suspect it is a fake. I will check the Q-Jet shelf and see what I can find. I imagine I can take a Pontiac linkage from an old carb and make this one more "correct".
Thanks.
