Default Enjoying this 1978 Y88 T/A 6.6 400, St-10 WS6 Gold Edition

Am enjoying driving this TA around kinda as a nice beater/daily as I can now work on rebuilding and repainting my 72 GTO 455HO. Have owned a lot of Firebirds and TAs over the years, mostly parts cars, but, have never really spent much time driving them
This is a fun car for sure. It feels great and is quite responsive. I also really like the t tops. Of course, there are things about it that I like my GTO better but, again, both are great cars and both will , eventually, end up restored for my Pontiac Heaven museum here in Arizona.
Just wanted to share the pleasures of driving these great cars!
It started life ordered just the way most who want these cars, would be optioned. All the good stuff and fairly rare, I think about 1,200 made with Y88/TA6.6/ST-10/WS6. Another plus is original paint so I know there is no bondo or rust hiding underneath. Will be a fairly easy repaint one day and I look forward to that.
The interior is pretty decent for its age. Have always loved the 1978 velour interiors. The dash has one crack so, I put a dash cover on it for now. Have had an extra dash restored for it already in proper color to install some day down the road. Not a priority now.
There are some upgrades- headers, nice dual exhaust with H pipe, Performer intake, 1.65 Roller rockers, different cam, etc. It had a nice Holley on it but, I replaced with its original Q jet so I could fit the shaker. Has an aftermarket Hurst shifter too. fits OK, not the best but, good enough for my needs for now.
Have always had a passion for the WS6 era TAs and Formulas- such great cars! The very best that one could buy at the time. It feels great driving it.
Does anyone else drive one as a driver or beater to restore one day down the road?
I have other WS6 birds too in the collection, just have not driven them yet.
