Here are a couple more pics of my 69 I got the car out today for the first time in about 4 years. Car was bought new in 69 by my dad, we have had it ever since. It was out family car, I have been on family vacations in the car from coast to coast when I was little. It was repainted about 13 years ago, and the engine was redone about 5 years ago. I have never had it in a car show, I dont think its show quality. But I have seen some at shows that were alot worse. I plan to have a frame off on it soon. Then I would like to show it. This forum has got my intrest back in the GTO

Default My 69

Originally a limelite green, green vinyl top car. 55k, mostly original car. Nice solid driver, hopefully I will do a total frame off one day.

Running a 4-bolt main 455, KRE heads, Crower 60919 cam and 4 spd...just got it out. Problem...can't stop spinning when punching it anywhere in 1st or 2 nd gear.

Mikejub, your ride looks great. Black roof with sliver & blackout grill looks really mean. I'd love to hear the sound of your 1st & 2nd shift "problem"...

Thanks Guys,

Patterned the new engine off Cliff Ruggles 11 second machine who did my Q-jet and of course the Kauffman boys who did the heads. This car is a blast to drive. Might offend some...but running a Chyrsler Hemi 4-spd special built by Liberty in Michigan to fit in a GM A body. Best shifting musclecar 4-spd I have ever tried...and strong. Now going to swap out the 10-bolt out back as I don't think she'll be up to the task when I start to hook. 12-bolt project is for the winter.

This is my first big mill Pontiac...had a succession of small block cars of various makes in the past. Wow...love that Pontiac torque...hit it from off idle on up and the power is right there. Love it!

Andretti...car was green when I got it, but was originally silver. I added the vinyl top as I too thought it would provide a nice offset with black tires and interior. Good catch on the black out grill...you are the first to mention it. Does give it a more sinister look

Mike

I dunno, silver looks good on your machine. It seemed like everyone was blacking out grills on all sorts of cars in the late 70's-'80's, me included. Kind'a like an automatic first mod.
Looking at them now compared to the cars of today they seem to stand out more. High-tec silver look. I was tempted when repainting my '69's grill, it would have been a lot easier to paint black headlamp doors. In the end... silver.
Now, if I had a Judge...
Carlos
