I need some advice on how to repair the quarters on my 76 TA. I have patch panels and trunk drop-off panels (originals are also rusted thru). I have a Lincoln Weld-pak with MIG conversion kit and am a complete newbie to welding with it.
Thanks, TA76 Drivers-side Pass-side http://www.angelfire.com/al/TA76/ http://www.bhamfbody.com |

Take your time with it and dont weld too much at a time or it will warp. I used a lincoln weld pak 100 wire welder with flux core. do a spot and move down about 3-4 inches and so on till its all welded up. cant stress enough to take your time. welding really heats up metal fast. A buddy of mine whos welded everything says that when you are welding it should sound like bacon frying. veiw my car and the 1/4s cut in at.

Also check the patch panels to make sure it has the right contour in it. I believe when my buddy did his 76 the panels were straight and had to be rolled slightly to be exact.
