There was a nice looking one sitting in the parking lot a work the other day when I was leaving. Kinda odd to see one of those in 2022, let alone a nice one.

Yours looks great…Congrats!

Knocking off one beautiful Corvette, GTO, 442, Camaro, Mustang after another. It was so bad at one event, that by the end of the day it was just a sea of black, all the old muscle cars had been put on the trailer by the hoard of GN's. People in the stands were booing them all day long, throwing hot dogs and drinks at the track. It was crazy. So bad that they finally had to create a specific class for the GN's and T-Types.
I went to a few of those events and they were the same here. Lawrence Connally a local guy built some fast ones in the NMCA too. His "Tweaked" was real fast tubbed car.

Was your neighbor Dale Steinke?

Great old vid of Buddy Ingersoll's 268 powered G body in Prostock way back in 86 Glidden still beat him

https://youtu.be/nkxr0CPiZGY

I thought it was cool when they were competing in Indy racing as well.

Buick Indy engines productionV6 blocks

IIRC it took the GN X to unseat the Pontiac SD powered TA's as the last fastest American production car that the 74 SD-455 TA's had held for 12 years

Just wrapped up the tint, snapped a quick pic. The rear window and quarter windows are 5%, along with an 8" eyebrow done in 5% as well. The two doors are in 35%.

My 71 by comparison is 5% rear window, 5% eyebrow with 15% on the doors. Went a little lighter on the GN just so it's easier to see at night.

Fun history facts on the engine... I think I've owned seven of them in various configurations.

Your GN looks great. I hauled them out of the Twin Oaks rail yard just south of Philly off I-95 and 322. It's still there today.

They were quite a car. Pretty powerful for a V6, especially with a turbo. I smoked a few tires "road testing them. As we all did with the "hot" cars. LOL But 2 guys lost their jobs racing them in the yard. They were on an intersecting course and one T-boned the other. They totaled both GNs and they were escorted out an hour later.

This was the same day I loaded 7 GNs and a red T-type Regal with a V6 Turbo in it. My buddy, that started at Anchor the same day as I did, loaded 8 GNs which we delivered the same day up Revere, Ma just outside of Boston. Boston. That Buick dealer couldn't believe 15 GNs and the Turbo Regal came in all on the same day. And all this was before they were allowed to be sold to the public.

No way! My parents lived in Revere for a while until I was born. We moved to Wakefield a little over a year later. I used to go to all the local dealers as a kid with my Dad looking at all the new cars.

What was the name of the dealer? Seacrest?

Yes, it was Seacrest.

They weren't too happy we delivered so many Grand Nationals. They had to hide them as they weren't released yet by GM to sell. Why GM did that I've no idea. I even offered to take one with me... but minus any loan paperwork.

Haha that's awesome! I remember going to Seacrest with my Father as a kid, but that was in the 90s so I missed seeing all the cool cars.
