Is this normal for a VIN tag
Please take a look at this VIN tag and see how the numbers bounce up and down. Did this really happen in the creation of this VIN tag? I "might" bid and I know about the background of this car, which is a bit unusual for a one owner car.

Base 350-2bbl so THM350. PB/PS. No wonder the AC doesn't work, compressor is missing. Well buffed. 23536 is a two seat wagon so is a large cargo space under the rear cover, spare in in the side. Reminds me of how rental cars were equipped.

Seen that VIN treatment on many Pontiac plant cars. It is legit.

Looks legit to me. And, as mentioned, nobody is forging a VIN tag for a wagon.

Interesting I dint think any of my cars ever had a misalignment like that. But I dint think I ever really paid that much attention either . Thanks for posting guys
That also looks like it would be one hell of a class racer or bracket car

The model designation and bodystyle code (digits 2 through 5) was stamped afterwards so you often see that those four digits are offset, sometimes even a different font. This was done so that each plant would have an easy to follow VIN sequence for all Pontiac's built in that plant. As daily production sequencing was planned they could follow the VIN sequence and simply stamp the appropriate model and bodystyle codes.

Wrong year wheel trim rings?

Both...
Dual exhaust not avail on a wagon. '73+ brushed curved style trim rings stick out, nearly as bad as the tweaked fuel door. Easy to remedy all of these items.
On the staggered digit stamping onthe VIN tag, have noted numerous tags misstamped similarly... Typicall first or 2nd digit of the tag. This was on Arlington & Fremont built '68 & 69 A-bodies.
