HELP!!!!!!!!!!!! I have a 72 lemans sport with a rare colored interior called pewter. I need to replace the headliner but no restoration company sells them. I have been looking for 9 years now and this is the last thing with the interior. All of the interior was in great shape to begin with but I have a 5" rip above the pasengers side seat. I need to get enough material to do the headliner, sunvisors, and earmuff boards. I also have tried several times to get vinyl die and failed noone could match the color even with a color sample.

there is a machine out that will "scan" paint and produce a mix chart, possibly this would work for the interior color also if you could find one. try asking a large body shop or a parts store that deals in a lot of paint. mike

Go directly to a body shop supply store in your area. They can tint a quart of SEM vinyl paint for you. Or, you could experiment with some cloth dyes. I would take a sample to Home Depot and get it color scanned. Use the formula as a starting point to tint the dyes. Remember that any custom tinted paint/dye will not be a 100% match. If you can come up with something very close, just do the entire headliner and visors. Or, you could wait another nine years in hope that the pewter headliner will become available. Just some thoughts, good luck!
