I think it's just one for the ground strap so it can be pulled out and allows the shaker to be pulled off the car. I don't recall ever seeing that do-hicky thing used for another application.

Here is the engine ground strap and terminal from a '74 Firebird.

Like Norwood was saying, there's probably a few in the salvage yards.

Is that the regular firewall to block ground? It cant be the shaker ground since they didn't have working shakers. Our '75 has the ground strap but with a standard eyelet terminal on both ends.

Yes, '73 and '74 had the same set up. You're right on the '75 going back to eyelets on both ends. Maybe not that many in the yards as I had once thought.

The '73 assembly manual shows this 2-piece style engine to firewall ground. When I took my 73 apart, it had the 2-piece ground. I sent it out with the rest of my plating.

So, does anyone have one they can spare? Or run across an aftermarket connector that will work. The blade on the strap seems to be larger than the standard size.

I know they used to service these since I had some NOS. Down to just one for my car, but you can tell this has never been installed (no marks from a screw head)

The "springy" portion that is bent up from the bottom often snaps after several removals of the ground strap if you don't relieve the pressure of the clip before pulling.

2 per car. One for the shaker and one for the strap to the back of the head.

My 73 SD does not have a shaker ground. Just block to firewall ground.

Just a update. Lectric limited sells both the ground straps. 15949 for the engine to firewall and 90536 for the shaker. Now we just need to find the female clips that go on the firewall

I realize this is an old thread but I belive I am having ground issues with my 71 455TA. Can anyone tell me where all the ground straps are attached? I see one that is attached to the shaker scoop, cannot see any other strap.

When the car is on and I turn the headlights and ac on my factory voltage gauge drops from 13/14 to 10/11. Car has the "slow" crank issue.
