Went with my cousin, who tried to order a 91 TA conv, with the 5.7 back in the day, and the dealer flat out said it couldn't be done. Never realized any Conv 5.7 were made in any body trims, in any 3rd generation

RCMP cars are so cool, one of my favorite color schemes.

My 87 IROC in completely stock trim with 100k miles on it (not showing) did mid 14's after driving to the track. Respectable for the day.

Stripes & wheels are painted and the car is back in the barn next to it's yellow wheeled little brother. Dropping off for decals & numbers on Wednesday of next week.

Appropriate plate is on the car.

The said imagery regarding the cat is stuck in my mind, I hate it when that happens.

This week's update - I loaded the car up on the trailer yesterday & dropped it off to get the decals and lettering applied. Jim Crist from the Toy Store in Florida has fed-exed up a package of articles and pictures which should be arriving on Monday. We'll be reproducing his signature from the SCCA log book to go above the driver's door & he's also included several of his own Toy Store decals which were on the car originally.

I brought the car to 32 Signs in Baltic, CT, about an hour & 1/2 away, who does most of the circle track cars in the state. Tom the owner noticed immediately that the decal on the car used the wrong Sunoco logo with the forward leaning letters where the original used the "then" current logo with the static letters. There's a reason we use professionals!

By this time next week the car should look the way it did when raced in the early 90's and the restoration should be complete!

Decals are done, Jim Crist sent up his autograph to use for the signature over the driver's door, his text when I sent him the pics of it done was priceless!

Taking it to the PY/MAX/Pypes show but hoping to not have it by the time Norwalk comes around.

We took it from the lower portion of the Race Gas decal Mike.

Here is my 89 formula 350 ASC vert.
I'm told its the only dark blue top formula 350 left, there were 2 tans and 2 dark blues built (other dark blue was totaled in 92ish)

It was an absolute privilege to be there and Rick Roso could not have been a more accommodating host! He says they get a ton of requests for shoots like that and grant maybe a handful each year depending largely on the car and it's significance to the sport.

We had the track from 7:00 to 8:30 and he stayed with us the whole time, helping set up shots, move the car and even drove Hannah's jeep so that she could take the action shots out of the back! Because of the exhaust and noise ordinances we only got in 1 full lap, and even that was cheating as I popped it into neutral for several sections. We did get to go back & forth several times on the back section through the turns as there are no residences close to that section. Picture here of Rick & Steve Sewell, the General Manager.

Jim Crist, the original driver was kept abreast of the shoot in real time - his text from after getting some of the pro shots!
