Default Finally!

OK, I’m 57 years old, and after all this time, am finally buying a house with a decent garage! I think I can get a lift in this one. I’m kind of excited to get in there in a few weeks.

30x40. The nice thing is it has 2 floor drains, is well insulated , has a bathroom/sink and its own sand point well. I’ll have to heat it though.
Thanks guys, I’ve been waiting my whole adult life for something like this.
Another nice thing is that the house has an insulated and heated 2 1/2 car garage. So my big garage is exclusively for my old cars.

You're supposed to report that you finally bought a garage, and it just happened to have some suitable living quarters in the deal...

Congratulations. Enjoy. From experience you'll enjoy the room but it will get filled up then you'll need more room.

When I purchased a house last year, I did a lot of searching, but finally came up with a house with 2 pole barns, and additional out buildings that total well over 3,000 sq feet. I finally can put every vehicle I own under roof, and still have space left over. Thread to new house:

Trouble is I'm quickly approaching 70 in January, so I need to get all the stuff I have on the back burner done soon, because being a mechanic all my life has taken a toll on the body, and I just don't have the abilities I once had, as far as strength, etc.

Good luck with your new digs.......

Excellent! That's a good size shop area. I got my place at 51 and for the first time had a shop and a garage, much like yours. My garage is 2 car attached, and the shop is 24 X42 with a raised ceiling for the lift, which I put in right away after a lifetime of 'gravel-backing' at home.
You will love working on your cars inside and out of the elements and up in the air to detail or repair. And, I love how all my cars and vehicles are inside and out of sight. You can't tell if I'm home or not.Click image for larger version

That is one thing I messed up on was no floor drains it’s only a problem when it snows lots of Squeegee pushing out the door. Having water and a restroom would be awesome sounds like a sweet shop.
