I bought a lift in 1999 best move I ever made don’t know how I lived without it. My new house has one too. Is that particle / chip board i. The walls ? If so clear it w floor varnish it looks good like that and it seals it up nice and can be washed.

Did that for a guy in a restaurant, people raved about the look had no idea it was just chip board .kinda gives the appearance of a leather look of stained and varnished .

Good idea actually. I have no idea why they did that. Yes, it’s OSB

Nice. Must make you happy to get settled in. I used OSB on the bottom of 1 wall in new shop, takes a little beating before you have to replace it.
Drywall does not like hammers, LMAO. Also make it a little easier to hang stuff on the wall. But they should have painted it.

I haven’t really measured, but I do believe it’s 12’. A lift is on my wishlist too! I’d love to have a lift that I can park a second car under, then I can get more cars.

I agree. It looks a little hokey, but I told my wife “If I’m washing a car in here in the winter ( there’s water and floor drains in the garage ) drywall wouldn’t last long”

That ‘62 Meteor was my grandfather’s. I drove it back from Tucson when I was about 20, after he passed away. My sister in South Dakota had it for about 5 years when I lost my place to store it years back. I got it back from my sister about 6-7 years ago, after she lost her house. I pulled the engine a while back, as it had low oil pressure and bearing noise. The block, heads and crank are still bagged from the machine shop. I’m just waiting for time to reassemble the 260 V-8. Time is hard to come by lately!

Is the Meteor a full sized car???
If so, it seems like the 260 must of been special ordered. Thinking was way different back then. Folks that worked at dealers likely lived through the depression. You didn't purchase ANYTHING that you didn't need. Or a luxury item. The fear was that the hard times could come back at any time.

If I ever get back to Wisconsin ( I was at the POCI in the Dells, in 2018). I'm gonna be looking you up for a ride in the 63!!!

Meteor is comparable to a Fairlane, my ex father in law had a Fairlane with a 260 in it, just a smaller 289 is all.

The choir master on Andy Griffith, John Masters had a Fairlane. Gomer was fixing a tire on it and John heard his sing voice, a great episode!!!
