The fastest Pontiac powered powered car ever had a 1982 vintage roots blower standard helix with a cast case. They can all be made to work, turbo, centrifugal blower, roots, screw, and nitrous. It's all about the combination and tune-up. Ed Page is just scratching the surface of what his car can do. Cooper had to turn his car down to stay hooked at Norwalk. Plenty of power potential out there.

As Mike pointed out, even a old school supercharger can set Pontiac records IF you throw enough money at it. Yet the record for MPH, for a door car i believe is about 275 right now and in the future might go as high as 300 with a Door Car.

Ditch the turbos for a blower and you’ll never look back? Is that cause the guy w the turbo will always be in front of you?
Or because you can only track race it on race gas and not drive it on the street and enjoy it on pump gas plus race it?

And while I’m sure someone (we probably know who) will attack my combo It’s been doing what it’s goal was for many many years with not even a hiccup. That what it was built to do nothing more nothing less and it does it better than anyone could have ever dreamed possible when I built it.

Btw I actually have nothing against roots blower or whipped they all have their use . I just couldn’t let that comment pass by

Also a lot of people think turbos are new tech or something. They are quite ok’d school actually. Bugatti had a turbo in 1929! Ohio George Montgomery won the nationals in 70 with a turbo car! It’s not as new school as people think

Well you know if you can't get it down the track consistently or at all you wont be in front of anyone!
E85 will work on a Roots type blower just fine and you can drive it anywhere........very streetable!

There are NO turbo cars in top sportsman or top dragster type cars and Ohio George is the only one that made a turbo work in a drag race car back then! Yes I was a Ford guy back then until i grew up!
