Came across a'77 Grand Prix and it appears to have Rally IIs, here is the information from inside one of the rims (do I need to get this information from all four?):
A 15x7 JJ 888 OD M5 7 Q 1 24 1 Can anyone tell me if these will fit a '69 GTO that will have a drum-to-disc brake conversion on the front? Are these rims 5 x 4.75 or 5 x 5? Thanks! 1969 Restoration

Measure from one bolt hole skipping one to the next. That will be your bolt circle size. Summit Racing has diagrams in their catalog for determining bolt circle on all lug pattern wheels.wheel codes check this link.

David -
Yeah, I already checked that Web site, hence I posed the question being that the 1977 year is not listed - the "JJ" code is in 1978 but the rims are not 15x8 as shown on that Web site nor are they snowflake - they look like Rally IIs. The Grand Prix from which these rims will come off of is also not listed on that Web Site, so the list I would think is incomplete. 1969 Restoration

I am sure they will fit but you need to check all the wheels to be certain all are the same width.

The letters & codes you have posted mean little. Basically tell when the outer section of the wheel was produced.
The correct way to ID a rally wheel or most any modern steel wheel is by the two letter code next to the valve stem. On your '77 GP rally II wheels they should read HM The problem with id'ing by the inner letters & size is, JJ & JK will be found on 99% of all steel wheels behind the wheel size 14x5, 14x5.5, 14x6, 15x7, 15x6, etc. This JJ & JK stamping was for the SAE wheel lip designation (the design of the outer wheel lip). Problem is further compounded as there were early Rally II wheels, that were really ID'ed by (the valve stem) two letter code JJ & JK. The JK's were actually 14 x 7 '69 GP & Firebird 400 wheels. JJ's were a 15x6 5 on 5 '69 big Pontiac Rally II's. Got a run, turkey is waiting...

O.P.H. -
Once your again your wisdom has proven itself very helpful. Thank you, for I did not know about the valve-stem code. I am glad today was Turkey Day else I would have bought them. Will have to check again... So the <BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><font size="-1">quote:</font><HR>14 x 7 '69 GP & Firebird 400 wheels <HR></BLOCKQUOTE> coded as "JK" are 5 on 4.75 or no? Or the only way to tell is to actually measure center-to-center of two oposing lug-nut holes? BTW - Will be heading to a distant salvage yard to dig for some spindles tomorrow, wish me luck. Thanks again. 1969 Restoration
