Default 75 Grand am Build Sheet???

This MAY have been kicked around here before,but my search attempt didn't yield any results/answers,so here goes:

Has anybody actually FOUND a build sheet in a 75 Lemans/Grand Am?
If so,WHERE?

I know all of the "you might want to check here" locations,but am looking for somebody that may have actually pulled one from this particular year & body style.

Thanks

I've heard most are found on top of the gas tank.

I found what was left of my build sheet on top of the gas tank. I dropped the tank to repair some rust on the trunk floor, and found some pieces of it. I've looked under the seats and dash, but nothing in my car. David

I have had several '73's, '76's, and '77's. All but two had broadcast sheets taped to the top of the gas tank.

I took my '73 Luxury LeMans completely apart and never found it. I did however find the one for my Can Am, it was on top of the gas tank stuck there with a piece of masking tape.

Yes.
I've posted this several times before: Make a photocopy of it right away. The info printed on mine faded to nothing after a week of sitting on my workbench exposed to daylight.

There was no requirement to include it, so not all cars have it. They would not stop the line because someone dropped the build sheet on the floor or misplaced it.

How many different assembly plants were there for 73-77 Pontiac A bodies?

Were Grand Prix's built on the same line?

Default Assembly plants

The 75 series plant code A (Lakewood), I found the build sheet under the passenger side rug.

A=Lakewood Series A & G
G=Framingham
P=Pontiac Series A & G
1=Oshawa

Interesting to find out those that found the build sheet what year you have and which assembly plant the car came from.

Cannot be stressed enough. Everyone expects to find one, yet the reality is there was no reason for it ever to be included in the car except because of lazy line workers. Over at transamcountry.com they had a guy who found 3 sequential build sheets (his Trans Am, a Camaro, and another Trans Am) in his car because apparently the line worker was too lazy to trash them and just stuffed them in the back seat. Every single one of my cars I've ever taken apart has NOT had a build sheet in it (except one 1979 SE Trans Am on top of the gas tank).

This is relative to 70-81 F-body's,not A's,but Firebirds & T/A's built in the Van Nuys plant will almost ALWAYS have one on top of gas tank & it's NOT uncommon to find one behind rear seat backrest & under one front seat.
I found FOUR copies in my 78 T/A that I bought new.
There was a partial copy stuck in between engine block & bellhousing(below distributer)

For Norwood built birds,it's a different story.
There's usually only ONE to be found (if you're REAL LUCKY) & it can be behind rear seat back or tucked under carpet under pass.rear seat.

It definately depends on assembly plant.

They would not stop the line period.

BTW, I never found one in my '74 A body (Oshawa build).

I have had 3 Oshawa LeMans, 2 73 and a 76, never found one either and looked in all the usual places. I found one under the front seat of a Bonneville.

GM Canada will provide you the build Data for Oshawa cars at a modest fee.

Ditto that on our 1973 Grand Am...the piece remaining was 1/4 inch in size...so no data available to share.
