anyone have experience with the repro mats when restoring a 67 bird conv? the mat is not cut out around the '****tail shakers' and the spare tire tie-down. how were they done from the factory? thanks. karl

I really don't approve of censorship. but I guess I can appreciate keeping vulgarity off the web site. but I thought they were called c*cktail shakers?!? karl

Your right, they are also called ****tail shakers. The mat was cut around the shakers in a partial hexagon shape meaning it was not a circular cut but 3 straight edges like a C shape. It was also slit in two places to accomodate the rear bumper bracket This left about a 1.5 inch piece of material in the center of the bracket. Hope this helps.

LOL! That's the first time that happened! I didn't even think the dirty word checker was turned on.

thanks for the info. the 'hexagon C ' makes sense. and I want to make sure I'm clear on the bumper bracket cuts. so the bracket is cut in 4 places - 2 cuts, about 1.5 inches apart on each side of the bracket area? if so how long are they?
and by the way, what other 'dirty words ' are not allowed? my friend dick wants to know. thanks. karl

That is correct, but on the brackets you need to cut the slit a to allow for the thickness of the metal so it does not wrinkle. Also, the mat sits over the bolts on the ****tail shakers. I have an actual full scale pattern someone sent me in a bitmap file. If I find it I'll email it to you. Love that ****ing ******ized son of a ****** censorizor!!!!!!

Beauty!!! it posted twice!!! Sorry bout that.
