Can you post a pic so we can see the area you are describing?? Will be able to give a better answer if I can see the area.

Judgement,
Might be able to be of some help. My '63 LeMans project is up on big jackstands, will move some boxs & crawl underneath & look at the rear floor board seams & the stamped steel rails & try & help you out with some pics of same area, in decent shape, at least so you will have good idea of where is a good place to start. How far forward on the the stamped steel frame rails, are your frame rails weak?

Hey Guy! The rusted areas is all part of the unibody! That section of frame is where the pivot point for the rear suspension swing arms mount. The only part of the rear frame area that can unbolt & come out is the upper crossmember that bolts to the body & the tramsaxle bolts to it. What condition is the rest of the car? Is it a convertable or coupe? This will be major work to repair. There is two ways to go about this, cut out the bad area & replace with a good frame/ unibody area from a donor car. Or find a complete donor car with a good unibody [in need of restoration] & swap all your parts to the new car. Sorry to be the bringer of bad news. There is one parts yard here with quite a few 63 Tempest's. If you would like I can go down there & see if they have one with a good rear area & see what they want for it. I have know idea what shipping for something like that would cost. Let me know & I will get you some prices. Keith
