can anyone read these 62 tempest codes?
first car: vin# in door jam:162S3539
tag under hood driver's side firewall:
style 62-2117 body BC 890
trim 213 paint AA
acc - - - BG(possiblyBC) CM LD

second car: vin# in door jam 162K12328
tag under hood driver's side firewall:
style 62-2117 body BK 3698
trim 216 paint CC
acc 2-6

my novice shop manual doesnt decipher the codes.
does yours?

1st. car 1(tempest) 62(year) S(south gate) 3539(consetutive number built at that plant)

Style 62 2117 (62 Tempest 2 door dport coupe)

BC 890 (??)
Trim 213 (Red imitation leather)
paint AA (Starlite black)

2nd. car

1(tempest) 62(year) K(Kansas City) 12328(consetutive number built at that plant)

62 2117(62 tempest 2 door sport coupe)
BK 3698(?)
Trim 216 (Light fawn)
paint CC (shelltone Ivory)

I don't know about the ACC. codes

Both of these cars , having the 2117 body style could be a LeMans car. The LeMans badging was mounted on the rear roof pillar just above the chrome trim where the roof meets the body. There will also be a badge on the rear just under the trunk lock and one on the right side of the dash. If the badges are missing there will be the mounting holes. If you have not allready done so, send a check to Pontiac Historic Services for a complete set of documentation on your car.
