I saw the car today....From the new owner!

The new owner wants to remain quite but wants to fill in some of the blanks here... for those that are interested.

Original "WS" VIN motor, with original M-20 trans and 3.55 posi rear.
Original, date coded 7040273 carb, distributor, alternator, water pump, and spiral shocks.
The heater core and upper radiator hoses are original GM with all the tower clamps still in place. It has the original Harrison radiator with the lower tag still in place.
All the Ram Air equipment is still in there and not rusted out.
Five date code "JT" Rally II's with original spare in trunk.
The car was hit high in the rear and took out the rear soiler and deck lid. That's why it has no rear soiler and decal.
The front bumper is very nice and the front grills are great with a good black paint coat. They were just dusty.
The floors and trunk pan are solid but it needs a fair amount of sheet metal replacement in other areas...nothing out of budget.

It is an unmolested, 54,000 mile, two owner car, from Freemont California. Yes, it took a while to find the VIN on the block. PHS says...Sierra yellow with parchment interior and top, Judge, RA III, 4-speed, PS, PDB, PB radio with 8-track, console, 3.55 Safety-T-Tack rear, Rally gauges and tach.

Original owner was a women that thought the car was hard to drive..too much power and dinged it up a bit...put it into a ditch! More than once but it survived okay.

It's all there...really, really neat!

Sounds incredible! All there and then some. What state was the car found in?

From day one, it has always been in Illinois. Kind of far for a Freemont (Z) car? By the way, the VIN # was up high on the block. To the left of the "WS" and under the heater hose.

Hey Tom:

How in the world did you get to see that great car. That'll be one awesome ride when it's done.

Tom, if you'd did a search on Fremont cars, the VIN stamp info is posted on this site in a couple of places. I collect information on the Fremont cars and it would be great to add this car to my collection. And, find that build sheet (I try to collect that info too).

Here are a couple shots.

It's a long story Phil. Alot of people don't care for this color combo. I think when it's done it will turn some heads.

HFR, Yeah, we heard about the VIN info after the fact. Felt pretty stupid, not finding it at first! No luck on the billed sheet but still looking.

FYI: look at the fan shroud and how it has the battery protector flap. I remember there was a post or two about it being a '69 shroud only.

What a find! Wish the new owner best of luck with it and post some more pics when the resto is started. That parchment interior is going to look real sharp when redone. Best interior for a convertible in my opinion.

The cynic in me wants to know if the car got snaked away from the guy that originally posted pics about it (looking for help), or if he ended up being the one to get the car afterall.

Actually, I also posted about the early 1970 Fremont cars having the flap on the shroud. But, it looks like this may be a Dec. or later car. And look, the tune-up tag is on the shroud, another signature mark for Fremont cars.

Wonderful to know the Car was really available after all. The posts about it being ebayed previously with same pics and being pulled for 20k made Customizits deal seem ... well ... odd. To say the least, since he was looking to get it for 10-15k.

Maybe the 20k deal fell through back then. Be interesting to know that story. A lot has changed ($$$) in the past year with Judge prices (still foolish that someone passed on it if they had the cash). Regardless of all that in the past, really glad Customizit located the Car and a rightful buyer. Hope he was compensated and that everyone is happy. Best wishes to the new Jvert owner and thanks to 7T Goat for supplying the Happy Ending !

I like the color combo just fine, but would change the stripe color to anything BUT olive. It's definitely going to be an attractive Car.

7T-Goat, My '70 convertible is also Sierra Yellow, with a white top. Everyone says it is beautiful and they love the color. It is a Fremont car as well, and the VIN was stamped high, and upside down, on the block. That Judge has a Sandlewood interior, right?

Very cool Judge. It would look good parked next to my GTO. Keep us updated!

Post some pictures of the Judge when it's done. I think the color rocks!

'69 Ram Air, you are right, even though you are fat and ugly. The colors combo is awsome. The car has been restored. See below

allmycarsarejunk- Do you own that one too? You guys from NY have them all. And I do weigh 225 lbs, but my wife thinks I'm cute.

So did Customizeit get snaked out of the car by someone lurking, or did he pass on the car for someone else that could get the funds together?
