It is my understanding that out there somewhere is a listing of 1973 Super Duty T/A color breakdowns (i.e., mine is a white on white with blue carpet opt). Anyone have this info on how many were built with these colors and auto tranny?

This site has a lot of info http://www.iwaynet.net/~gl&lisk/transam.html
Looks like there were only 3 ta colours in 73. You may need to contact PHS to get the actual amount of cars built with your combo. Sd car is fairly rare as it is.

for contact information on the sd-455 registry, see topic "New 73 455SD Trans Am". as per the chart from registry listed in that topic, there were a total of 20 white 73 t/as. 4 had standard interior, 16 custom int. of the 4 std. interior white sds, only one had a white interior. of the 16 white sds with custom interior, 3 had white interiors. i'm not sure what the protocol on a white interior was when it came to carpet color.

Your info on the SD Registry is somewhat misleading. The cars that are shown in the registry are only cars that SD owners have registered with Frank. It is not in any way meant to be a list of all SD cars built. When I bought my SD, it was not on the registry. I sent Frank my info and now it is. The info is now available via the internet. If you go to the 74-76 Tech area of this site, look for the topic "What is the earliest SD worth?" I posted the link there. I can't remember it as I type this post.

Hope this clears up any confusion.

I have never seen such a list. It would involve someone taking the list of all F bodies built in 73 and 74 and selecting the "X" code cars out of that list. A program could be run to do that once all the VIN's were input into it. It would take forever to input all the VIN's. You're talking about tens of thousands of vehicles because the list would include every F body, not just T/A's and Formulas.

I'm not sure about the 88 R/A IV cars.

actually, there is a link to franks registry in anoter related topic, the one mentioned above. sdbob, the color/interior listing from the registry newsletter does take into account all the sd formulas and t/as. i believe that frank did exactly what you said it would take to do. if you look at the newsletter color/ interior chart, the numbers by color and interior all add up to the toal of the sd cars. i didn't take those numbers by adding up what's shown in the listing of the cars that are in the registry. i think frank worked with jim mattison or another former or present pontiac person whose name eludes me at the moment (not sawruk) to come up with the breakdown right around the time phs started up.

xbird2:

I don't see that data when I open the spreadsheet. The only thing I read is the VIN listings of the cars that are registered. Where are you seeing that listing? Please advise. Maybe you can copy and paste the portion you refer to in a post.

if i get thetime tomorow i'll scan it and post it. it's from a 94 or 96 registry newsletter. btw nw/sd, what's orig ext color/interior color/std/dlx on yours, i'll take a look at the sheet and reply with what it indicates. in one regard you are right bob, previous reply should be "there were only 20 white sd t/as" forgot the sd part.
