Default Courtesy light wiring

Ok I'm restoring my 1969 Catalina and need to know what wires go to the door jamb switches ,what colour wires and where the originate as previous owner cut them off. I have orange and white wires from dome light which then travels down the drivers side to the main harness in the floor. I need the under dash wiring explained so I can repair what's missing.

Convertible is different than all other body styles. In closed cars the dome light is simply controlled by the door jam switches and the dimmer on the headlight switch, these act like ground switches. The dome light always has 12 volts, but it needs a ground source to come on.

I'm making progress I think,my car now works in the following way and I need someone to confirm I have this correct. 1 Open drivers door and dome light comes on, open passenger door and dome light and map/dash courtesy light comes on.3 dome light comes on when headlight switch turned full anti-clockwise . Can anyone confirm this is how it should be.

Is your car a ragtop? If not then the dome light should come on with either front door (only Bonnevilles had rear door light switches) or if you turn the dimmer past the click counter clockwise. If it's a convertible the dash light near the ashtray and the rear armrest lights should come on.

On ragtops the dash light comes on automatically with the dimmer switch or door but it can also be turned on independently by the dash switch.
