66 Rocker panel molding extension clips
Good morning,
Does anyone know where I can source the bathtub style clips used for the rear extension moldings? Thanks in advance Joe |

How about a picture of an original clip and dimensions? I could work from there.
thanks in advance Joe |

here's a link to a thread with two links to pics etc.
https://forums.maxperformanceinc.com...xtension+clips I could swear Ames sold this kit but maybe it's been discontinued. if you're not hung up on originality, I'd think these screw on clips would do the job. https://www.ebay.com/itm/39189272544...Bk9SR5Co0OSxYQ |

Thank you.
I talked with Ames. They are discontinued. Pics helped a lot. Can go from there. Regards, Joe |

no problem. I went on a hunt after your post convinced I could find them somewhere....the only thing I did find was the installation tool that was pictured in that discontinued kit. Year one still lists the tool by itself without the clips. not much use without a clip to use it on, but it's out there so maybe year one might be worth a call.

For this particular installation, emblem tape (two sided body tape) was my friend. I didn't have to drill holes in my quarter, and the stuff is super strong. I glued cut off phillps heads to the bottom holes in the trim to disguise it. :-) I would have never thought to use this until I was stripping a car, and it had rear moldings and rocker moldings attached in this manner.
