Thumbs down Beware of John Thompson in Michigan

This past April, I sent $700 via Zelle to John Thompson from Michigan. The transaction was to buy a '66 Tri-Power intake with one end carb and a '64 Tri-Power intake.

We agreed by phone that he would meet me in Ft. Atkinson, WI to complete the transaction. He said he had to pick up a 389 Pontiac engine there in July. Near that time, all communication with him ceased. I have left many voicemail massages and texts trying to arrange for completion of the transaction, but he has stopped answering.

If anyone knows John Thompson's whereabouts or anything about him, I'd appreciate your help.

Thank you,
Dick Boneske

I only have his John Thompson’s phone number is (248) 636-0633.

I’m hoping someone on this forum knows where he lives. I’ve asked some of the moderators of Pontiac sites for their help.

Sorry to hear this happened to you Dick!

I'll bet a whole bunch of your friends will be calling that number on your behalf!
The car hobby is a tight knit group of great folks & just like my industry (transporting) the outsiders/scammers/criminals are weeded out quickly.

God Bless & Merry Christmas

Dick,

You really need to read that thread supplied by Dataway! I would call the Oakland county Sheriffs Office, since they already know him well, maybe you can at the very least get him thrown back in jail!!!!

God Bless

Exclamation

Please please please NEVER use any payment methods that are essentially the same as cash, checks or money orders all of which give you absolutely no recourse or protection in case something goes wrong. I know Postal Money Orders seem safe since you’re committing mail fraud if you abuse them but I’m not sure how easy it is to get your money back if you’ve been taken.

The internet is unfortunately a haven for ripoff artists, use only payment methods like PayPal if you’re unsure in any way about who you’re dealing with.

Watch out. I paid him $700 in April for two Tri-Power intakes & a carb. He has not yet sent them.
