Engine is a 1973 pontiac 350,bored over .30. edelbrock 750 carb, edelbrock high rise intake, performance dist, edelbrock rpm performer cam (biggest one you can get) now, which heads do I use?

1967 400 290HP 143,061 1.92/1.64 10.5 c.r.
1967 400 325,333HP Big Car 143,061 1.92/1.64 10.5 c.r.

or
1977 350 ALL 6X -4,6S 2.11/1.66 7.6cr
I have both heads. the 1967's look like the compression ratio is 10.5 to 1,the 6x are 7.6 to 1. I will use 94 pump gas.

Blackcat: he is running a 350 instead of a 455,so for all out performance,I would use 1968 350 HO #48 heads,or for good performance and pump gas use, mill the 6X-4's .060". With the overbore and non-beveled pistons, the CR should be 8.6 or above.

Sorry, The best heads are the 67 big car heads of the bunch 670's if you hve them the 061's are an interesting head with the big valves and open chambers and the great ports. But they lack the screw in studs that the high preformance heads have.

So, Blacky, what's your biggest turn on? Is it that Big Blue Ball that the Tiger is holding? Rash

Keep the heads you have now on it. Shave them .060 if you like, it will help a bit but probably not much. Replace the "High Rise" intake with a old iron intake or a Performer, get rid of that insanely huge and poorly matched cam for something around the 068 and then you'll be just amazed at not only how much faster your car will be, but how much more fun it will be to drive....
