Great article, Keith! I had the distinct pleasure of meeting Art at the 2007 POCI convention in Tulsa, and spent WAY too much money on several of Art's Pontiac prints.
Thanks for posting that link.

I had the distinct pleasure to help coordinate the first "hobby" appearance that Art made. It was the 2001 GTOAA convention in Red Wing MN. Art is a great talent and one of the inspirations for my current venture into the field of automotive illustrator.

Art called us last year to be a part of the Indian Uprising. I talked with him on the phone several time before the show to coordinate his travel arrangements.. He's a heck of a nice guy.

I've had the pleasure to meet Mr. Fitzpatrick twice. I think he's the best automotive illustrator around and think of his work as the benchmark of what I aspire to do in my illustrations. (I still have a long way to go!)
Does anyone know if he will be attending the GTOOA/POCI Co-vention this summer?

One of my all-time favorite ads, though, didn't even show the car. It was the picture of the empty garage and the text describing the distant sound of a 421 as it went through the gears. Classic!!
