Default Formula steering wheel - bent or not?

My formula steering wheel aluminum spokes seem to be bent slightly. Didn’t notice until I removed it from the hub. I was about to put in my vice and straighten/flatten when I thought….maybe it’s supposed to be this way? Don’t know if it’s very noticeable in the pics but the center spoke section is definitely not flat…..passenger side is pushed in a bit and the drivers side is pulled out. Anyone know for sure if the wheel spokes should be flat on plane?

Looks like an otherwise nice fat grip wheel. Hard to tell from pics but looks slightly twisted, should be flat..

My new reproduction wheel is flat.

Read several posts here mentioning that these wheels are very easy to bend and can be damaged by pulling yourself in or out of the car.

One reason why these wheels were ONLY available with Power Steering. Should be Flat.. and black.

I read somewhere in 79 or 80, they went to steel because the wheels were folding in accidents.

80/81 wheels used a steel core with a wrinkle finish like the collar;
I believe that 1979 was the final year of the aluminum wheel core.

I find myself pushing off the console lid to get out, I have to tell myself each time not to do that. Lol. nOS lids are pricy now.
