Default 1972 Gas Tank Sending Unit

1972 Grand Prix. Gas tank sending unit needs replaced. The unit is confirmed to be bad by ohmmeter bench test so it's not a poor ground as is apparently so common. Anyone know where to source a replacement? Or how about any hacks to adapt a non model-specific unit to function acceptably? BTW, found a place that does rebuilds but turnaround time is estimated to be fourteen weeks and I need the car operable before that. Thanks for any insight/advice!

The '71 and '72 GP sending units are specific for the 26 gallon tank and are not reproduced. Unfortunately, having it rebuilt is the only option. There are a few places that do this service, maybe another will have a much quicker turnaround time.
