Default 65 side mirror

Looking for a recommendation for a new side mirror for my Dads GTO. The last attempt was a repro from Ames. Not knocking anyone, but it didn't hold up well at all. Became loose quickly, and any attempt to tighten it up basically just began the process of pulling the ball through the back. This is a manual version, no remote knob. Anyone had good success and care to give the details on where you got a good one? It's gonna be (hopefully) for Christmas, so I need to order soon. Any help appreciated.

I made an order and will try to remember to update this thread for others after enough time to make a fair and accurate assessment.

If that doesn't work out for you, I have a beautiful OEM that will work out. I removed it because the date code wasn't legible...

Hi Bill,
If Scott doesn't want it, I may be interested. What will you take for it.

Thanks, Dave

remember you can disassemble and "dimple" the cup that goes on the ball with a center punch, that will help "tighten" the mirror so it doesn't move around, then reassemble. Worked great for the repro I have on my car.

Efforts like that have not been successful. The metal is too thin. The extra tension just continues to try and push the ball through. Hoping to get something better made. We shall see...
