Question 70 GTO rear speaker shelf corner panel

Hey Guys,
I'm needing one and possibly both sides of these for my 70 GTO https://www.summitracing.com/parts/gmk-4032712680r

That part number on Google always shows it as being for a 68-72 Chevelle but it looks identical to the ones on my 70 so I was wondering if any has ever used them on a GTO and if so, did they fit properly?

Thanks!

The simplest way that I have found to see what parts cross over is to look up both applications on the Year One site. If the part numbers match, so does the part.

Yes that would make sense so I took your advice and looked but they don't seem to carry this panel for either model.

I know that the most minor detail in design can change a part number so I was hoping that someone at some time had tried the "Chevelle" one with success or could at least comment on what adjustments had to be made for it to fit.

I'll tell you what I will do. If you are willing to order them and ship them to me, I'll compare them to a 1970 GTO that we are restoring. If different, I will work with you make the needed modifications.

Don't know if you found a solution yet but I had the same problem on my 70 gto. Package tray corner was rotten they are 3 PC. The far bottom corners don't match I used 68/72 Chevelle tray . My speaker holes were very thin so. I cut what I needed. But corners need to be fabricated

Thanks for the offer 400 4spd and thanks for the confirmation Glennhill.

I've been doing some research and I was starting to think that the difference was going to be at the rear window. It's not really a big deal to mod, it will just take a little time and patients like you say. At least now I'll have an idea of what Ill be getting into so thank you very much and a Merry Christmas to each of you!
