Hey folks,

Not sure if that's the correct name, but I had a question on the 2 pins that go into the rear wheel cylinder. Just installed new cylinders and those pins seem to stick out more than when I had the original cylinders. When I installed the brakes it seems the pins then compressed into the cylinder pushing it in. Is this correct? I thought without the brakes engaged the cylinders would be at neutral resting state instead of compressed. Appreciate any feedback.

The "rest" position of the actuator arms determined by the shoes seating on on the main pivot pin at the top. The springs pull the shoes towards the center until the shoes rest on the big pivot pin. Yes, those arms are compressed into the cylinder when you install the shoes .. they work by pushing out on the shoes, so of course their normal position is compressed.
