Default What's going on with MS Windows Edge?

My Edge for Windows 10 changed overnight, and I can't get into my YouTube account because of it. Google has taken over and wants me to use gmail to get into it. Before I used my hotmail account and it was fine. It's all screwed up. Anyone else seeing this?

YouTube is owned by Google. So Google controls how you can sign in, doesn't have anything to do with MS Edge. You can click on the windows logo in the task bar and search for "manage passwords" and see what password info it's trying to use to sign into YouTube.

Ok, and thanks. They've got my sign-in all messed up. It acts sure like Google doesn't want any email used to sign in but theirs only.

Just checked my YouTube account and I'm using a Gmail account to sign in.

Did a quick search ... Yes a Google account (email) is now required to sign into YouTube.

I did see articles like this claiming a work around:

https://www.wikihow.com/Use-YouTube-...-Gmail-Account

Do a search on something like "Do I need gmail for a YouTube account" and you'll probably find various ways to get around it.

We just upgraded our tv (at my wifes request). Been having a few minor problems. Tech came out yesterday and got everything going but we need to sign in with a Google act. to activate a lo of the channels. Monopoly?

On a similar note, I bought a new (not refurbed) pc laptop. Windows 10. To be able to use it, I had to create a password protected microsoft account. Please excuse the slight hijack.
