B Body sway bar question - Oldsmobile
Good friend of mine has an 84 Olds Delta 88 and is wanting a rear sway bar for it.
I'm told a 73-77 A body sway bar will work. Can anybody out there in cyber land confirm that point? Also what other B body GM bars will work and the year if you know it. He's looked far and wide for an 84 Delta sway bar without effect. Thanks in advance, Jerry |

Not too sure.
Have doubts with using a B-Body from the 80's on a '73-'77 A-Body. Can't find another A-Body or a G-Body? The G-Body is a stretched A-Body. Something to keep in mind.

Hey, Steve..........
His car is a big Oldsmobile ( Delta 88) which I assume to be a B Body. I was told that a 73-77 A Body bar will work on his B body. Me, I dunno! |

'77 to '96 B-body bars will work, best choices are the Chevy 9C1 police package bars, or '94 to '96 Impala SS aftermarket bars (plenty of choices there). Just make sure to get them as a matched set. Also, certain aftermarket bars, specifically the Herb Adams type setup, will require upgrading to tubular lower control arms in the rear, as they have been known to literally tear out the factory sway bar mount setup. '73 to '77 A-body bars are _supposed_ to be the same, since the late B-body chassis is fact a modified 4-door A-body frame, but...
