Is there anyone such as Eagle or ? making 4" stroke cranks or stroker kits for the 389 or 400 blocks with 3" mains? I see many for the longer strokes. I prefer to stay at the 421 or 428 cu. in.

There are no cast 4” cranks I can find for a 400 anywhere. Molnar forged is it for about $1200 bucks by the time you ship it

Molnar sounds expensive until you realize you dont have to get it turned hacked or welded just to use it.. rods or crank ...

Do folks realize "stroker kits' are individual crank, rods and pistons that function properly together and come with rings and bearings.
Each part can be purchased separately and from different manufacturers.... that also gives you better options to tailor the parts to your specifications. |

I do understand that. I generally use Ross pistons and tell them the compression height I want. I was just wondering about the crank. All I was seeing was the longer stroke which I don't particularly care for. I was sniffing around looking for a 421 or 428 but it seems like the ones out there are pricey. It may be cheaper in the long run to build a 421 from a 389 or maybe a 428 from a 400.

Yes.. That may be considered. Depending on if I find a 400 or6 a 455 at a reasonable price with in driving distance from me. I almost prefer the smaller journals. Just like 327 Chevy. Small journal seems to run stronger.

They run strong. I'm running 2. One in a 50 Merc. and one in a 34 5 window coupe.
