I just purchased a set of RAIII exhaust manifolds. I see there are coatings available to keep them looking new. Anyone have any info on which types/brands work well, or which to avoid. Or, are they worth the effort at all?

I had a set on my '67 GTO for two years and painted them with a 1500 degree high temp dark grey cast iron color manifold paint. I wanted a more or less stock look and did not want them to rust. They still look fine and the paint has not burned off. I also did not use header gaskets or even the steel shim stock type gasket. The manifold to head seal w/o gasket worked perfectly.

On my RA manifolds for my 67 I used the Eastwoods Stainless Sreel Gray and sprayed it on. Looks like cast iron but doesn't rust. The stuff is real durable and no paint remover made to man can remove it. It works good on headers too.
