Geez this is a pain..
Anyone have any tips for installing the tranny dipstick on a 350. I had to buy a new one because somehow it got a split and it was leaking around the tranny hole anyways. So now I have a new tube, one of those rubber sleeves, and 6 skinned knuckles.
The tranny is installed and the air box is on making for a tight fit. and underneath the headers do not allow much hand room.
Ive tried the sleeve on the stick, in the tranny, half in and half off. NOTHING WORKS!!

Please someone tell me the really easy way to get the stick to go in. I'm sure its something obvious that I just can't picture.

Those can be a pain. You just have to play with it.I've done it both ways, seal on the tube(harder) seal in the tranny-sometimes pushes the seal in.

The old O ring type were easier even if they didn't seal as good.

Still haven't gotten the daarn thing in. I'm going to hate having to drop the crossmember and shaft just to install it but looks like the only way its going to happen.

ARRGH!
