Default 1967 GTO - original owner - HMM

Hey guys, just wanted to give you a heads up on an excellent article in the new Hemmings Muscle Machines. There's a feature article on an original owner 1967 Signet Gold GTO (also on the cover). Great story about how the owner ordered the car, had the dealership install a tri-power, etc. I love these stories...

I just got the issue. It will be my new favorite edition of HMM just because of the cover car. With the exception of the red fender liners and few owner modifications, it's a dead ringer for my '67. It was almost like seeing my car as it looked when I got it in '73.

I know the owner- as does most every Pontiac enthusiast in the North East. Paul has a ton of absolutely gorgeous show winning GTOs. I see him at various events several times a year with one or more of his cars but I've never seen this one.

Here's the '64 that he brought to the CT POCI fall Show.

I love those stories, too (...as you might guess).

I like the way he kept it "period correct", rather returning the car back to showroom stock. That is what I have done with Dad's car as well.

Every time I see these "Original Owner" articles I send a little blurb to the editors (since I have two original owner musclecars). I usually don't hear anything back. I'm not sure what the deal is, unless it's the fact that technically Dad was the original owner of the '65.

Got my HMM yesterday - that's a great article. I love those original owner stories.

At the suggestion of members here, I subscribed last year. I enjoy the market round up, but the rest of the magazine is a little "light." They need to go more in depth with the owner's stories. It needs more content.

HMM success, comes from the very reason you said you believe it's a little light. In order for it to be as popular, it has to show many brand and years of cars. IN order to do that, it takes apace. The price for subscription for the many cars it has is well worth it. Advertisement is not as bad as some.

To get an idea, when was the last none Pontiac mag you sen run anything about a 67 GTO? Now, how many GTO's has HMM run in the past year? Look it up, and you'll notice we get more Pontiac coverage from HMM than any other none Pontiac mag out there. I'd trade my PHH, But not PH, to keep my HMM. Now put those eggs down, and be open to new ideas. Sheeeesh.

Easy there, killer! All I'm asking for is more substance in the limited space you have. Getting away from writing teeny articles on the fifth grade level won't sacrifice success. Not that I read GQ, but the occasional article is long enough to help me have an actual connection to the story. Less blurb and more words. Now, where's my eggs.

That car is the same color as mine, only mine is a hardtop and I don't have the red fenderliners. My car got picture of the week for 05-28-06 on ultimategto.com
