Keith, are you ever going to make that move to the south? It's been more than 10 years since we talked about it...

Starting to feel the impact. We are having trouble getting equipment. We are getting shipments for jobs that are missing heatpumps . Heat strips are out a month for jobs we are doing this week. Coils are in short and contractors are hoarding. Framers have houses framed up and waiting weeks to get trusses. Lumber prices are going sky high and houses will follow.

I am seeing this one first hand;
lumber prices are staggering.

I wouldn't doubt it if the trusses I had ordered this spring to re-truss my garage would be double the cost right now - if that were the case, I wouldn't have storage trusses.

I wanted to add storage space to my existing garage roof;
it's basically an oversized crawl space built to fit inside the shape of my existing roof;
I put them in beside the old trusses, then cut out the old common truss webs;
I had them built when the shop needed work.

I work at an Orthopedic Office and have been to work the whole time. We had reduced hours due to having to conserve PPE if cases spiked early in the year due to state orders here in CO. Ever since elective cases were ok'd to go forward we have been busy catching up. We are still struggling to get exam gloves, gowns, disinfecting wipes, masks and some other items. The main medical supplier we use have most of these items on allocation because of the shortage. It amazes me that these items are not readily available right now.

I never stopped. I work for an environmental consulting company. We got a great deal on a house in rural Tennessee, and my boss agreed to let me work from home. Two weeks after we moved, the shutdown hit. Now everyone is working from home....

No stoppage for Architects or Construction in general...

I could see lumber getting replace by steel studs. They make better trusses too.

Home construction is not going to slowdown. Suburban and rural demand for housing is fueled by remote work and city dwellers moving.

I've been working 6/7 days a week since the middle of April, which is unusual since my normal busy time is Oct - May. Sales are up 50% this year during the slow time, so I imagine it's going to be really busy for awhile. Good thing I work from home.
