I saw that one. It's missing too many parts and is a tad rusty.
My 68 GTO is a June 68 car so would prefer one before that date.

For what its worth.
I had the privilege of meeting Cliff R (the carb expert) this year and was in his shop twice for some carb kits and a rebuild.
He told me when you see a sticker like on that carb it has MOST likely had the seat (needle & seat) drilled out and one pressed in making it un-rebuildable!
So be careful!

Yeah, stay away from those parts store stickered 'Reconditioned' carbs. They look great but they block off various passages and sometimes mix and match parts from different carbs. In fact, I have an '8262' that fits that description. It's basically the same carb as the 8268. I use it for parts now.
I later switched to a '74 carb. Much better design than the '68 as I have learned. If you're not going for absolute numbers correct, even the '69 carb would be a better choice.

Still need one. It's ok without a date.

As far as I know, it's the same carb and when I've looked, it's for the same application in '68. All that last number means is 'even number= auto tranny'.
I'm not one of the 'numbers experts' here though... I can just tell you that the '8262' is what was on my car when I got it and my manuals showed it as correct for a '68 400 automatic.
