I have an original Hurst jacket brand new and plan to look into it. I would have to get it licensed by Hurst. I been lucky in that respect as everything I have done thus far Hurst has granted me a license to do it which is unusual since I don't think they grant many license agreements.

He hasnt been on since 2009 iirc.

Quite a few long threads on the jackets and I recall some sources for mfg.

What info is on his tags?

The company name on the Hurst jacket doesn't appear to exist anymore. The label on my Hurst jacket reads Speed Dewan Jackets...

basically has two like racing strips down one side draw strong at the bottom course gold in color with small Hurst patch sewn in...my jacket is brand new. I am sure I can get it licensed by Hurst which would be half the battle the other half is finding a company to produce the jacket..at a reasonable price without checking a Hurst catalog these were rather cheap in the day.

denniskirban@yahoo.com

we just did get approval for another Hurst item...we plan to do a Hurst Equipped metal embossed license plate. Working with another buddy on that project. Already approved by Hurst to proceed with that.

denniskirban@yahoo.com

If any readers have any connections for the garment industry in the USA appreciate letting me know and would even give them a finished jacket if we pull off this project.....

I have one original and two reproduction JUDGE jackets and had found a few offshore sources for these back when TAXIMAN was getting involved.

There is a website where many hundreds of offshore mfgs post their manufacturing capabilities and many were clothing mfgs able to do various size runs.

I will see if I can find it if interested or find info on jackets I own.

Seems like it was researched and posted in one of the Judge jacket threads, but havent looked.

I like to stick with the USA on this project as I have no experience with overseas products getting made. Plus being Hurst I wanna stay in the USA.

I appreciate it though. Been fortunate with most products we have gotten made over the years as the owners of the companies have been friends or car people to start with which goes a long way in getting small runs of anything done.

The tag on my Taximan Judge jacket doesn't list the company that produced it. The tag just says Bonner Manufacturing which was the company that originally produced them.

Dennis,

Pontiac Banshee on here was involved with some jackets as well. Hes still on here I think so maybe he can help with HURST sourcing. I think his were made in Canada.

Some of the first Jackets by Taximan had an "R" on the Bonner tag for reproduction, I recall. His email is listed in one of the Judge Jacket threads but not sure if its still good. His email from old thread: judge69@mac.com.

Pontiac Banshee's post from 4-26-2011 said:

I have decided not to move forward with the creation of another set of jackets. I do not have the money to start the endeavor.
I have all the information to produce another 46 to 100 jackets including the contacts for the original manufacture.
I also have 30 of the reproduction BONNER tags from the initial run.
I am looking for an interested buyer.

Jeff

Also, a few websites I have posted before for vintage jackets, some without patches that look cool and from the era noted:

http://www.rustyzipper.com/mens/jackets/racing

http://www.vintagetrends.com/Vintage...oats&ST=Racing

I have seen some speed equipment jackets on here but they sell fast. I used to check it often.

A HURST jacket would be nice! I would buy one of those....I know it would be of top quality.

Sorry 1969 Ram Air about posting on these HURST jackets in your ad, I thought we were in a thread on them, not your classified ad until I just checked and the edit options were expired.

Good Luck on your sale, these are VERY HARD to find in any condition.

Jeff - no problem at all. I'm interested in a Hurst jacket and hope the project gets going.
