On a 74 auto bird, how in the world do you remove the shifter knob?
On a 1975 I got it off simply by unscrewing the damn thing, but on my '74 it is a different type of shifter and now I am afraid to try anymore to unscrew it. I don't want to break anything.... ------------------ Please remember that clones are people two. |

Take a screwdriver and pry underneath the center Firebird button. Then, take a snap ring pliers and remove the clip inside of the handle. That '75 must have been a 4-speed or aftermarket.
